San Jose Christian's Touch a Truck event

In February, San Jose Christian School in Campbell, California, held its second annual Touch a Truck, a day for the community to visit the campus and get up-close-and-personal with a variety of vehicles. More than 30 trucks were on display, including a fire engine, a SWAT truck, a cement pumper, a car transporter, and a WWII amphibious vehicle. The local library partnered with the school to provide story time, and over 20 local businesses donated time, trucks, or money to the event.

San Jose Christian's Touch a Truck photosTouch a Truck was designed as a free community outreach event to raise awareness of the school in the local area. The event drew over 1,600 attendees, making it the largest event the school has hosted on campus.

The large majority of attendees were not members of the school community, and many families requested more information about the school. In addition, thousands of dollars were raised through donations for the charity 4others, which helps feed children around the world.
