Planning for a Head-of-School Succession

Among Christian school organizations, there is a shared concern that, without preparation, Christian schools may face a shortage of qualified leaders within the next decade. At present, the average age of Christian school leaders is increasing. A growing percentage of school leaders are within three to seven years of a standard retirement age.

There is agreement that few Christian school leaders and governing boards proactively plan for succession.
