Job Description

Qualifications:

  1. Is a Christian who:
    1. Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
    2. Is able to articulate a Christian statement of faith and purpose for Christian education.
    3. Subscribes to the purpose and principles listed in Section 2.01 of Article II and the educational philosophy contained in Section 3.01 of Article III of the Bylaws.
  2. Is an active communicant member in good standing of a church which subscribes to the historic Reformed confessions listed in Section 2.01 of Article II of the Bylaws.
  3. Preference will be given to a person who holds a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  4. Preference will be given to a person who holds an Indiana Educators License.
  5. Has demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively with other adults.
  6. Has demonstrated the ability to work with high school students.
  7. Agrees to educate his/her current and prospective children in CSI Christian day schools grade 1-12.  This requirement may be waived if the child(ren) has special education needs that cannot be provided by a local CSI Christian day school. If the position is part-time, this qualification will be a preference.
  8. Agrees to adhere to the Marriage and Sexuality Position Statement.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates love for God:
    1. Practices daily devotions of prayer, reading of God’s Word, and meditation.
    2. Gives Christian service to others both within and outside the school.
    3. Models an exemplary Christian walk in speech and actions. 
    4. Submits to authority out of obedience to Christ.
  2. Demonstrates Christian professional competence:
    1. Works with individual students and in group settings to facilitate optimum student progress.
    2. Consult with the Family Relationship Manager and administer MAP tests as needed.
    3. Attends and leads probation conferences and consults with teacher of record and Academic Support teacher as needed.
    4. Assigned as Corporation Test Coordinator for all high school testing including all CollegeBoard tests (PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT) and ILEARN Biology ECA and Knowledge Assessments through Ivy Tech Community College and coordinating with KVHS to administer a joint session of the ASVAB. Works with the Principal to devise remediation plans for students that did not pass or attain mandated benchmarks.
    5. Coordinates and manages online remediation classes for summer school and during the school year. 
    6. Annually reviews student progress toward fulfillment of graduation requirements.
    7. Coordinates with the principal on a master schedule for each semester based off of class surveys, staffing availability, and credit needs. Manages student sign ups for their classes.
    8. Provides information and assistance to students regarding course selection, college applications, college admissions testing, and scholarship opportunities. Introduces students to web-based tools such as Indiana Career Explorer.
    9. Schedules and maintains accurate records for Career Discovery meetings, FAFSA completion, and manages the annual Career Fair
    10. Prepares for and administers standardized tests such as PSAT.
    11. Communicates with students and parents regarding results on standardized tests.
    12. Schedules and hosts visits from college representatives and yearly FAFSA financial aid seminars.
    13. Manage the responsibilities of the school in the 21st Century Scholars program. 
    14. Reviews and maintains correct transcript records for all students and maintains transcript formats that meet state requirements. Manages the schools’ Parchment account, reviews and processes all transcript requests for current and noncurrent students.  
    15. Manage the responsibilities of the school in the Dual Credit and AP programs. This includes qualifying testing, registering, monitoring academic progress, and attaining grades for report cards and transcripts.
    16. Maintain the guidance portion of the school website. Coordinate efforts with the Communications Coordinator.
    17. Provide presentations at events such as Orientation, visit a school to speak to 8th grade students, Informational Night for inquiring families, and Awards Chapel at the end of the school year. Coordinate efforts with the Communications Coordinator.
    18. Annually updates for Graduation Pathways and/or diploma and seal status in Scholar Track, Inters and FACTS.
    19. Pursues professional growth through continuing education.
    20. Recognizes the need and is able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  3. Builds Christian community within and outside the school.
  4. Manages other duties and assignments as determined by the Principal and/or the Board.
