Job Description
This part-time (.5 FTE) dynamic, multi-faceted position requires strong spiritual leadership, strategic planning, and operational management. The Director acts as the primary liaison between the Collaborative BOD, member schools, staff and community. While carrying out these responsibilities, the Director works closely with Principals from the member schools (Fremont Christian, Grand Haven Christian, Muskegon Christian, and West Michigan Christian High School and Middle School). With these Principals the Director will foster and strengthen our “Better Together” philosophy while promoting quality Christian education in the west Michigan lakeshore region.
Job Requirements
1. Visionary Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Articulate and champion a broad, compelling vision for collaborative Christian education across the four member schools.
- Serve as the public face and primary ambassador for the Collaborative.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that strengthen the partnership between member schools.
2. Board Development and Governance
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the BOD, assisting the board in making informed decisions.
- Oversee the process for recruiting, vetting, and onboarding new board members.
- Implement and refine strong and effective governance, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
- Lead yearly training and professional development opportunities for member school boards.
3. Financial Management and Fundraising
- Provide financial oversight, including budget management and regular financial reporting to the board.
- Explore and lead innovative fund raising efforts
- Oversee operations and financial performance of the Collaborative's resale store.
4. Operational and Programmatic Oversight
- Recruit and oversee Collaborative employees.
- Support and guide leaders of the four member schools, fostering a culture of trust and shared success.
5. Marketing and Communications
- Develop and execute a plan to increase awareness of the Collaborative and its mission.
- Represent the Collaborative to the public and media, enhancing its brand and community presence.
- Create compelling marketing materials and impact reports that effectively communicate the Collaborative's value to donors and the community.
Education Requirements
Preferred:
- Significant managerial experience with a proven record of leadership in an educational or leadership setting.
- Appropriate educational experiences that support leadership abilities.
- Strong experience in fundraising, marketing, and managing budgets.
- Demonstrated success in working with a Board of Directors.
