Christian Schools International and NACCAP are very excited to announce that they are partnering together to offer staff at CSI member schools in the US an amazing opportunity to enroll in an online hybrid program to obtain guidance counselor certification. Staff at CSI member schools in the US who are accepted will receive 10% off their program fees. Limited spots are available so apply now.
Offered by NACCAP, this certification program is specifically designed for Christian guidance professionals and provides training and certification in all aspects of college admission counseling and advising. This innovative program offers integrated, collaborative, experiential learning on the campuses of Christian colleges and universities. A one-year program, six modules are included that have been carefully selected with secondary Christian school guidance and admissions staff in mind. Its format includes conference calls and online written assignments, as well as professional coaching and mentoring by expert Christian guidance professionals.
“I cannot say enough good things about NACCAP. They have changed my career and the way I do my job. I decided to do the certification program because I have a master’s in counseling for private practice counseling, but I only had one class in school counseling, so I had to figure out how to do my job as I did it. At times I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water,” said Naomi Oosting, guidance counselor at Beaver Country Christian School, a CSI accredited member school in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
Oosting was a member of NACCAP’s 2017–2018 certification cohort and saw many benefits in enrolling in the cohort. “A fellow counselor told me about NACCAP, and I was sold! It was a lot of work, but SO worth it. It was great learning all six modules while doing my job so that I could start using what I was learning right away. I loved everything about it and am still using it daily. The instructors are experts in their fields and are so approachable and available. I can still reach out to them at any time, and they are here to help me. I have a found a group of Christian counselors that know what one another is going through and are ready to share the lessons they have learned. I felt like a lone ranger before NACCAP, but not anymore.”
If you are interested in applying to the next cohort, which will be starting at the NACCAP Conference on May 29, 2019, consider applying soon. For more information on the program and partnership, including how to apply, visit www.naccap.org/page/Certification.
