ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Is positive and enthusiastic with all students.
- Delivers research-based strategies and techniques to support students individually and small groups.
- Maintains progress monitoring data, making programming adjustments as needed.
- Understands and works with a variety of student ability levels.
- Helps with positive behavior management strategies for all students.
- Maintains confidentiality for students at MCS.
- Helps with administrative duties as needed.
- Communicates successes and challenges with parents.
- Promotes school success for students with disabilities.
- Develops and tracks student goals in Individualized Student Plans (ISP)
- Reviews and interprets data.
- Develops curriculum to assist students in meeting ISP goals.
- Review student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate reading, writing, and math intervention and support services.
- Meet regularly with the classroom teachers to plan instruction and support that correlates with the individual student’s needs or as requested by the classroom teacher.
- Collaborate with the Educational Support Services Team.
- Other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Moline Christian School.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education is required.
- Adept at using classroom technology.
- Ability and flexibility to be trained in a variety of areas.
- Ability to work with students with disabilities in inclusion settings.
- Character, willingness, and availability to fulfill the needs of the job description.
- Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to problem-solve and think creatively.
- Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism in confidential and sensitive student matters.
Education Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Special Education degree.
3. Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
