Job Description

This candidate will demonstrate their love for God, passion for students, and dedication to teaching the whole child as the Inclusion Specialist for students in grades 5th-8th within a Christ-centered environment. This position is also recognized as our Educational Support Services Director. 


Job Requirements

Terms of Employment 

  1. The Inclusion Specialist position at Borculo Christian School is 80% to 100%. Based on the applicant's interest. 
  2. This position will be for students in grades 5-8.
  3. The inclusion specialist will be on campus four to five days a week, based on FTE.
    1. Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. (subject to change due to ZPS bussing times)
  4. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education.
  5. Must hold or be in pursuit of a valid teaching license in the state of Michigan. 
  6. The ideal candidate would hold a degree in special education, school counseling, or a reading specialty.

Education Requirements

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Establish a school-wide referral process and participate with Student Success Teams.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers concerning students who are at-risk in the learning environment (Consultation Role)
  • Evaluate and diagnose skills, learning styles, neurodevelopmental patterns, and disabilities (Diagnostic Role)
  • Remediate learning deficits through direct instruction with students (Teaching Role)
  • Coordinate the work of paraprofessionals (Supervisor Role)
  • Promote understanding and use of student-specific accommodations/modifications (Advocacy Role)
  • Maintain a valid state-level teacher certification.

  4. Professional Development Reimbursement - the school will assist teachers with the cost of renewing their teaching certificate and professional growth up to $500 per teacher per school year. This amount will be cumulative up to $2,000 per teacher per four years. Part-time teachers will receive a percentage of this amount according to their FTE percentage.
