Technology Support Specialist

The Technology Support Specialist ensures responsive technology services for hardware, software, and audio/visual technologies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design MacOS DEP deployments
  • Package and distribute software and profiles
  • Provide customer service in a telephone and computer help desk environment for all employees
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues for all district owned computers, printers, audio/visual equipment, and other peripherals in a timely manner
  • Provide triage documentation and training to building educational technology staff


Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of and ability to work successfully in a K – 12 school environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware and software, mainly MacOS, iOS, and a management system
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on customer service


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Scripting fluency (Shell, AppleScript, Python, etc.)
  • Experience in an IT support or help desk environment
  • Experience with JAMF or another MacOS enterprise management software
  • Experience with Google Apps for Education


Education Requirements

  • BA/BS in computer science or related degree or a high school diploma with equivalent experience
