Middle School Bible & History Teacher

Bible and History teacher for middle school age students

Growing Christian school is seeking professional, subject specific teachers for middle school Bible and History courses. Candidate must have working experience as a teacher in a middle school age classroom. Duties include, but are not limited to: classroom management, lesson planning, implement and teach from a developed curriculum, maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, and meet the physical, educational and spiritual needs of the students in your care.

Job Requirements

Specific Responsibilities of Contracted Employee:

•Model Christ in word and deed and maintain continuous, regular attendance in a Bible teaching local church

community.

•Follow and implement biblically integrated lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis according to NHCS

guidelines.

•Establish and maintain communication with parents as specified by administrative policy.

•Read NHCS email/staff communications to remain informed and respond if requested to do so. This should be done daily upon arrival, midday, and before departure.

•Attend and participate in school worship events; 1 evening per trimester.

•Attend all NHCS staff meetings; 1 per month at the discretion of administration.

•Participate in scheduled grade-level team meetings, at the discretion of the team lead.

•Participate in the accreditation process for the school’s continuous improvement plan.

•Participates in professional development to stay current in their field.

•Adhere to specified professional dress codes outlined in the Faculty Handbook.

•Attend and participate in designated trimester Awards Chapels & weekly student Chapels.

•Decorate classroom bulletin boards seasonally, scripturally, and quarterly.

•Establish and maintain accurate records of each student, including attendance records, academic records and

behavioral records

• Attend/participate in: Parent Orientation, and all School Wide Ministry Outreach Events, that promote

relationship building with students, parents, and colleagues.

•Maintain accurate and up to date student records on Gradelink.

•Discipline with love and establish classroom rules and procedures in accordance with the behavioral

management policy set forth by NHCS.

•Compile and maintain an up-to-date substitute folder

Education Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Gifts:

•Qualified candidate must have a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and be commitment to the

philosophy and Statements of Faith of New Hope Christian School.

•Willing to live a life above reproach and in a manner that is worthy of your calling.

•A strong commitment to the philosophies and mission of New Hope Community Church as well as the

traditional educational philosophies of New Hope Christian School.

•Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to children, their parents, and colleagues.

•Florida State Certification in Elementary Education and/or Florida Professional Certification in area specific

instruction for which you are hired.

•Continuing professional development.

•Computer skills.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and/or Spanish.

•Organizational skills.

•Flexibility


Education Requirements:

•Secondary Teacher - Bachelor’s in Subject Area


Work Schedule:

•Secondary Teacher: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
