The Lead Preschool Teacher at ZCS has a variety of different responsibilities including but not limited to, building a cohesive nurturing environment for students to learn and grow in as well as establishing a routine the class can come to know and follow each day. Our Preschool teachers are expected to build and maintain excellent relationships with parents, students and other staff members and be able to lead parent-teacher conferences effectively. There will be certain activities that will happen outside of the regular school schedule. Preschool teachers will need to attend parade days, graduation, a fall family night, professional development on various days through the year, preschool conferences 2x a year and possible other events if necessary. Throughout the year Zeeland Christian holds specific professional development/training that is mandatory for all teachers to attend. Preschool teachers are required to take a minimum 16 hours of training.

As a part of our Spanish Immersion program, the Lead Preschool Teacher must either be a native Spanish speaker or have native-like fluency in Spanish. Previous knowledge of and/or experience in a Spanish immersion preschool program is preferred.

Ideal Candidates for the Lead Spanish Immersion Teacher position would possess one and/or a combination of the qualifications listed below:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in early childhood education, elementary education, social work, child development or child psychology (preferred)
• Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA) with work experience in a licensed preschool or daycare
• Several years of experience in a licensed preschool or daycare setting plus significant coursework or in early childhood education

The Spanish Immersion Preschool schedule is Monday thru Thursday 8:30-3:10.
