Job Description:
As the Principal of Community Christian School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic, spiritual, and ethical foundation of our school community. You will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, fostering creative learning solutions that will maximize student success, and supporting the teaching staff to be the best. Work in a collaborative team with the school board, business manager, bookkeeper, and administrative assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Spiritual Leadership:
- Provide leadership rooted in Christian principles, fostering a Christ-centered school culture.
- Maintain strong relationships with local churches and the wider Christian community.
- Live and show a lifestyle that bears the fruit of the Spirit.
2. Academic Excellence:
- Oversee the development and implementation of a rigorous, innovative curriculum aligned with Christian values.
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning, fostering an environment that supports academic achievement and personal growth.
- Monitor student progress and implement interventions to support struggling students.
- Implement and oversee strategies for differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring every learner is challenged and supported at their individual level of readiness, interest, and learning style.
- Promote a culture of social-emotional learning (SEL) by integrating evidence-based practices that foster student self-awareness, positive relationships, responsible decision-making, and emotional well-being.
3. Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, retain, and develop qualified teaching faculty and paraeducators who are committed to the school's mission and values.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities for staff members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages growth and innovation.
4. Community Engagement:
- Cultivate strong relationships with parents, alumni, and community stakeholders, fostering a desire of support and engagement.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school, actively engaging with the wider community through events, partnerships, and church relationships.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- A committed Christian with a personal faith and a passion for Christian education.
- Master's degree in Education or a related field; additional qualifications in educational leadership or Christian ministry preferred.
- Previous experience in educational leadership, preferably in a Christian school setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and inspire others.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of educators and staff members.
- Visionary leadership with a focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and academic excellence.
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the school.
