Community Christian School is a growing Christian educational institution dedicated to providing our community with an academically excellent, biblically based, and Christ-centered education. This position would entail teaching multiple subjects, but not all, including reading, English, math, history, science, computer science or Bible. Please apply and we can discuss what subjects you are most passionate about.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Spiritual Leadership:
- Provide leadership rooted in Christian principles, fostering a Christ-centered school culture.
- Live and show a lifestyle that bears the fruit of the Spirit.
2. Academic Excellence:
- Plan and implement lesson plans that integrate Christian principles and values across various subject areas.
- Foster a positive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and supported in their academic, personal, and spiritual growth.
- Teach subject-specific content while incorporating biblical teachings and Christian worldview perspectives.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Assess student progress and achievement using a variety of assessment methods and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support the overall mission and goals of the school.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices and Christian educational trends.
- Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating Christian values such as compassion, integrity, and servant leadership.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community outreach programs as needed.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school, actively engaging with the wider community through events, partnerships, and church relationships.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Valid Iowa teaching certification/license.
- Profound understanding and commitment to Christian faith and values.
- Previous experience teaching in a Christian school or ministry setting preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans that promote critical thinking and active learning.
- Dedication to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Willingness to adhere to the school's mission, vision, and statement of faith.
Working Conditions:
- Typical school hours with occasional evening or weekend commitments for school events or meetings.
- Classroom environment with periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- Interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and principal on a daily basis.
