Job Description
Position Overview: The Technology Support Coordinator will be overseen by the Principal and is primarily responsible for working with the students and staff at Western Michigan Christian to support their technology needs. Western Michigan Christian has a 1:1 student to Chromebook ratio and expects students to use technology inside and outside of the classroom. This position will also serve as backup support for the front office when needed to accommodate time off requests.
Job Requirements
Technology Support Responsibilities include:
- Issue, track and collect student and staff Chromebooks and computers. This includes Managing a system for student Chromebook and charger check in/out, assessing damage to Chromebooks and scheduling repairs and setting up chromebooks for use in academic testing situations
- Work with the Finance Manager to assess fees for students who have damaged their Chromebook, misplaced a charger, etc.
- Serve as an onsite administrator for the Google Suite of products and troubleshooting software issues as they arise with students/staff; this may include revoking Chromebook and/or software privileges from students
- Work with the Finance Manager and other administrative staff to manage software licenses and renewals for students/staff including Windows, Screencastify, Linewize, etc.
- Troubleshoot issues with servers, printers, computers, Chromebooks, projectors, etc.
- Coordinate the “Bell Schedule” for the academic day
- Provide support for the “GoTo” phone system
- Support emergency processes related to phone, power, server, and wifi outages
- Support system hardware and support software used within the school (Adobe, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Linewize, etc)
- Serve as the point of contact for contracts with technology service companies/vendors (ITech, etc.)
- Train staff on on using current and new technology
- Act as the support for functions that take place which require technology use (projector, screens, microphones, etc.)
- Serve as one point of contact for PowerSchool; this includes scheduling staff trainings, working with the MAISD and troubleshooting issues, when appropriate
- Manage security of all platforms and systems
- Other duties as assigned
