Job Description
The tech manager for the NCAW is a part time (hourly) position who reports to the Director of Operations. Hours vary with availability needed for afternoon and evening practices and events.
Responsibilities:
●Ensure the equipment is being maintained and functioning properly
○Technical Systems Currently in Use
■Audio (Live Sound Reinforcement and Playback)
■Video (Computer Graphics)
■Lighting
■Theatrical Stage Rigging
■Production Coms
●Train students and staff in responsible use of equipment
●Build student tech teams
●Inventory management
●Troubleshooting and repairs
●Set up and tear down for events, including proper storage of equipment
●Work with event faculty and program leaders (Producers) to collect audio, video, and lighting (AVL) requirements and to develop, document, and communicate a comprehensive AVL plan
●Plan, oversee and run tech for productions, concerts etc.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
●Technical fundamentals of system (see Responsibilities) configuration and operation
○Experience with Yamaha audio mixers and lighting consoles (preferred)
●Excellent communication skills; written, oral, instructive, and directive
●Excellent organization skills and detail orientation
●Supportive and nurturing personality with school aged children
●Calm, collaborative, and solution oriented demeanor under pressure
●Physically capable of moving large and heavy AVL and stage equipment, using ladders and/or single person lifts
●Healthy / normal human hearing
●Critical / creative ear for mixing live music
●Familiarity with basic music theory and terminology
Education Requirements
At least an Associates with 1 year of experience
