Job Description

Unity Christian High School is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Job Requirements

Behavioral Plans

  1. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to establish consistent behavioral expectations and consequences across all settings
  2. Provide coaching and support to classroom teachers in implementing behavioral strategies
  3. Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify behavioral triggers and develop appropriate interventions
  4. Design, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that align with students' IEPs and promote positive behavioral change
  5. Track and analyze behavioral data to measure progress and adjust interventions as needed
  6. Partner with families to ensure consistency between school and home behavioral supports

Tier 2 Intervention Groups

  1. Collaborate with teachers to identify students needing additional support
  2. Facilitate small group instruction for students requiring targeted academic and/or behavioral interventions
  3. Utilize evidence-based intervention programs aligned with Instructional Strategist II best practices
  4. Progress monitor student performance regularly using formative assessments and data collection tools
  5. Adjust intervention strategies based on ongoing assessment data and student response
  6. Communicate intervention progress to teachers, parents, and administrators

Assignment and Test Modifications

  1. Work directly with content area teachers to adapt assignments, tests, and instructional materials
  2. Create modified assessments that maintain academic rigor while providing accessible formats, ensuring all modifications align with students’ IEPs
  3. Implement assistive technology and adaptive tools to support student learning
