Job Description
We are seeking a follower of Christ to lead our Music Department at JCS. Our school has a rich tradition of music excellence and we are praying the Lord leads a new person to continue this level of success. The teacher would teach general music to grades PK-4th and then Band and Choir to grades 5th-8th. There are concert, chapel, and other commitments that would be paid on top of the annual salary. This is a shared time position with a local school district.
Job Requirements
The teacher would teach all grades of music and lead the music department. They would be required to continue a level of excellence that ties all music from PK to 8th grade as one. PK-4th grades have 1 class per week at 50 minutes per session. Our 5th-8th grades have band and/or choir 4-5 times per week at 50 minutes per session. There are extra (paid) duties outside of the daily schedule that are required with this job also.
Education Requirements
BA in Music Education required. MA would be highly encouraged.
Experience with PK-8th students would be a positive.
