Job Description
East Martin Christian School is seeking outstanding candidates for a part-time Physical Education (grades K-8) teaching position for the 2025-26 school year. The typical schedule will include one half day of instruction per week. The teaching schedule may accommodate a particular day of the week that works best for the candidate. Candidates should have a deep love for Jesus and a passion for working with children to equip them academically, spiritually, and socially to gratefully serve God in all aspects of life. PE certification preferred. Job Requirements
- Have a deep love for Jesus Christ, and a desire to support and promote Christian education.
- Have a passion for working with students as precious and unique image bearers of God.
- Provide informative and engaging lessons that align with Michigan academic content standards and that teach from a Christian worldview, encouraging students to see how all subjects are interrelated as parts of God’s creation.
- Possess the ability to clearly communicate and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and other members of the school community.
- Work collaboratively to achieve school goals, as well as to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of students as a professional learning community.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in elementary or secondary education from an accredited institution.
- Michigan teaching certificate (or an out-of-state certificate with a willingness to pursue state certification in MI). Physical Education certification preferred.
