The Middle School Dual Language Teacher plans, prepares, and delivers lessons in the subject areas of social studies, bible and/or Spanish Language Arts. Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning
-
Develop lesson plans and objectives suitable to the needs of students to meet the school’s desired student outcomes.

Plan thematic units to help students see wholeness and relevance in learning.

Incorporate various teaching strategies to match the learning styles of all students.

Discern and teach the Biblical principles that relate to the lesson content.

Follow the Addalingua LIOPT (Language Instruction Only Policy Timeline).

Stay in the Spanish language during instructional teaching time unless teaching an English Specific Skill.
Teaching the Lesson

Organize class time well with activities that have a clear purpose and engage students' attention.

Give clear directions and organized explanations.

Use questions and explanations that promote clear thinking and awe in students.
-
Listen carefully to students’ ideas and apply them to the lesson.

Use gestures, body movement and voice inflection effectively to generate interest and wonder in learning.
Classroom Management
-
Establish a climate of care and love for students.

Clearly define what is responsible Christian behavior for students.

Help students develop self-discipline through appropriate use of correcting, consequences and counseling.

Organize time, space, procedures and materials for effective, efficient learning.

Other Duties

Teachers assigned to a specific grade-level homeroom will lead and/or help sponsor grade-level activities.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal.
Education Requirements
-
Bachelor Degree or higher in Education from an accredited college or university
-
Indiana teaching license for the subject or grade level taught
