Job Title: Lower School Spanish Immersion Faculty (2026-27 sy)
Department: Lower School
Category: Faculty; Salary; Non-Exempt
Reports To: LS Principal, LS Academic Dean, and Director of Spanish Immersion
Salary Range: $47,845 – $83,477 DOE (Scale from 2025-26 sy)
Summary: Instructs students in multiple subjects by performing essential teaching duties in Spanish, assuring that the mission of the schools is supported. Commits to professional growth within best practices in the dual-language immersion classroom. The Spanish Immersion Teacher models a servant’s heart and promotes an attitude of respect, teamwork and professionalism by speaking well of other faculty and staff members; supports entire school system-lower school, middle school, upper school; prays for and with other faculty and staff; encourages others in Godly living and excellence; lovingly holds others accountable; actively pursues ways to encourage members of the schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following;

- Instructs students using whole group, small group, and individual instruction methods; utilizes proven instructional strategies, research-based practices, curriculum, and other resources to support instruction; all instruction to be delivered in Spanish
- Understands different learning styles and incorporates multiple styles in teaching
- Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the school
- Assigns appropriate lessons and corrects homework, quizzes, tests, projects, etc. in a timely manner
- Administers formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, records results,issues reports to inform parents of progress, and differentiates instruction based on assessment results
- Uses assessments to direct teaching
- Keeps attendance records
- Maintains discipline inside and outside of the classroom and demonstrates effective classroom management skills
- Communicates clearly and consistently with parents to discuss student progress and challenges
- Participates in faculty meetings and professional development, educational conferences, teacher training workshops, and independent educational study for growth
- Seeks out additional support as needed for academic, emotional, spiritual support for students
- Performs related duties such as recess and after school monitoring, small group leadership outside of the classroom,, counseling student in adjustment and academic challenges
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; or fifth year college or university program certificate or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience; valid teaching credential.
Credentials, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Advanced Spanish proficiency is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered by the administration in lieu of a credential, depending upon the teacher’s department and duties.

- Maintain a positive Christian testimony
- Be involved in a local church of like faith and practice, consistent with the RCS Statement of Faith
- Bilingual Proficiency: Must have an Advanced-High proficiency in Spanish (C1 and above) and seek to continue to develop their biliteracy
- Agree with and adhere to the employee handbook
- Use strong communication skills both oral and written
- Work comfortably with people and engage in substantive conversation
- Work diligently and independently and make judgments with minimal supervision
- Problem solve and take the right steps in seeking professional support when needed
- Ability to use technology; computers, Google Suite, Microsoft Office software, copy machines, manage student licenses online, enter grades and scores on various platforms, etc.
Education Requirements
