Job Description
Nanaimo Christian School is a PreK-12 school of 700 students located on beautiful Vancouver Island. Aligned by our philosophy of Belong, Believe, Achieve, we value the uniqueness of each student and offer a collaborative, student-first approach to learning. We are looking for teachers who teach from a Christian Faith perspective, love their students, and thrive working in a team environment.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply the BC Ministry of Education’s current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines for Special Education Services.
- Assessment and evaluation to Level B; Provides criterion-referenced or norm-referenced assessment as appropriate, to answer questions about how to best provide instruction or support (preferred)
- Strong knowledge and application of UDL and multi-tiered systems of support
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents/guardians, and external consultants within an inclusive school environment
- Proficiency in implementing and adapting high-tech and low-tech supports
- Strong problem-solving skills and conflict resolution abilities
Education Requirements
- Valid BC teaching certificate
- Ideal candidate will have a Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education or equivalent coursework with a focus on successful interventions for students who have complex learning and behavioural challenges (completed or in progress)
- Previous teaching experience (5 years+ preferred)
