Job Description

Valley Christian High School is seeking a full-time counselor. The candidate must demonstrate a mature commitment to Christ and have a passion for High School aged students. An ideal candidate would be equipped to work with students one-on-one, in small groups, and in the
classroom. Further, the ability to partner with parents to pursue a path of wellness is key.
At VCHS, our students come to school with a wide array of abilities, interests, and backgrounds. It is the job of our faculty to engage each individual student and develop a relationship that not only supports learning, but provides mentorship and wisdom on the journey to adulthood.


Job Requirements

The preferred candidate will:
● Embody empathy for a diverse range of students and families
● Excel at written and verbal communication
● Have experience counseling students and families toward psycho-emotional health
● Help students through the process of course registration and develop a four-year plan
● Participate in the process of recommending and evaluating students to qualify for schools approved accommodations in a 504 plan
● Have working knowledge of the college admissions process and be able to advise students as they apply to a variety of colleges
● Have experience facilitating and interpreting testing in a school environment, including PSAT, SAT/ACT and AP exams.
● Have the ability to work as a team developing department goals and objectives, scheduling on campus events, and collaborating with teachers and administrators in the best interest of students


Education Requirements

An advanced/master's degree in a related field of study is required (e.g. counseling, social work, LMFT, LPC, LCSW, PPS, etc.). Applicants must profess faith in Jesus Christ and be active members of a local Protestant church community.

  • Salary Range: $68,640 - $83,702 annually based on education and experience
