Building on our 100-year legacy, we will develop Christian leaders as a multicultural force for renewal, unity, and hope.  CCS teachers participate in the practices of a professional learning community.  Ideal candidates are certified teachers who want to collaborate for standards-based, social-emotional, and spiritually-engaging learning.  CCS is a Teaching for Transformation School that expects teachers to weave faith into learning in a creative way within the TfT framework.  CCS faculty model the following characteristics of professional excellence:

A Follower of Christ – Celebrates the centrality of Christ, committed to and formed by God’s Word, fostering the gifts of the Holy Spirit in self and in each child, living out His calling, building community, and living out the hope we have in Christ.

A Seeker of Knowledge-Engages in continuous learning, possessing a passion to understand and empathize, researching/implementing innovative and developmentally appropriate practices, asking questions, embracing mistakes, and collaborating with others.

A Pursuer of Justice – Commits to reach across boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, and politics by fostering relationships, acting in love, and working to bring God’s kingdom to our communities both locally and globally.

An Architect of Intentional Instruction –  Plans with backwards design, crafting engaging lessons, responding to students needs with differentiation and care, and focusing narrowly on learning targets and standards.

A Practitioner of Professionalism – Demonstrates personal responsibility, accountability, a willingness to seek out collaboration and mentoring, and high standards in relation to others in the school community.

An Infuser of Inspiration – Enthusiastic to share and challenge students, inspiring them to be active in the learning process and be able to apply what they learn to create a lasting impact for God’s kingdom.

An Engager of Parents/Guardians – Communicates effectively with parents to share positive encouragement as well as issues of concern, portraying a partnership in education and actively including and inviting parents to be a part of the learning community.
