High School Spanish Teacher

Job Description

Chicago Christian High School seeks a full-time Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  Chicago Christian High School is located in Palos Heights, IL, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. We seek individuals who are driven by excellence and care deeply about their students.  Being a part of the CCHS faculty means striving to reach all students and understanding the importance of building strong and authentic relationships with them. It is the job of the CCHS faculty to work with each student and get to know him or her in a way that would not only best support their learning but also provide guidance and wisdom when needed.

In our classrooms, we strive to push our students to think critically, ask deeper questions, and take ownership of their learning. We are not afraid to abandon the lesson plan to dive into an idea or expand on a question or revelation.  

Spanish Position Profile: 

The preferred candidate will:

• Speak and write proficiently in Spanish.
• Develop and deliver lessons that align with a comprehensible input methodology, focusing on language acquisition through listening, reading, and contextualized communication.  Familiarity with the Somos and Huellas curriculum is helpful.
• Use TPRS, storytelling, and other CI strategies to facilitate the acquisition of the Spanish language.
• Use authentic resources (songs, videos, stories, cultural artifacts) to create meaningful connections to the language and culture.
• Use technology effectively and meaningfully in the classroom. 
• Incorporate a Standards Based Learning approach to grading. 
• Collaborate in a professional learning community.
