Job Description
Position Overview: WMC has a four person math team, so this role will most likely reach multiple sections of two different math courses. The instructor will be responsible for developing high quality instruction, assessments, assigning homework, and documenting student progress. To be an effective teacher the candidate should possess a thorough understanding of teaching methods and practices. Our ideal candidate will be able to create a stimulating learning environment that is sensitive to student needs while integrating a biblical worldview into their instruction.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.
- Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
- Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning.
- Grading assignments and quizzes in a timely manner.
- Supervising quizzes and final examinations.
- Documenting and reporting on students' progress.
- Attending meetings with parents and staff.
Math Teacher Requirements:
- A completed apprenticeship or teaching experience.
- A thorough understanding of best practices in teaching.
- A teaching certificate or license will be required.
- Proficiency in MS Office/Google products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, flexible disposition.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education with a specialization in mathematics, or equivalent.
