Job Description
The ideal candidate will be able to teach Art I, Art, II, Ceramics, Studio Art, and Art History to inspire and challenge students through a dynamic visual arts curriculum that encourages creativity, technical skill, and personal expression. This role involves teaching a range of art disciplines, from foundational techniques to advanced studio work, and overseeing student exhibitions and art-related events.
Job Requirements
- Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate art curriculum for grades 9–12
- Teach a variety of art media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media
- Foster a supportive, Christ-centered classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore and develop their artistic talents
- Organize and lead student art shows and contribute to school-wide visual displays
- Maintain an orderly, resource-rich art studio
- Collaborate with other faculty and contribute to interdisciplinary projects
- Participate in school events, professional development, and faculty meetings
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid Utah teaching license or ability to obtain licensure
- Demonstrated experience teaching high school students in an academic or studio setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A commitment to Christian education and integration of faith into teaching
- Portfolio or examples of student work encouraged
