Responsibilities
-
Observe Dual Language teachers regularly and provide coaching on DLIE pedagogy.
-
Advocate for program needs with Principals and Director of Learning.

Assist the Director of Learning on Dual Language materials and curriculum.

Provide language support in the hiring of Dual Language teachers, aides, and substitute teachers, or facilitate translation services.

Provide language support to Principals, Director of Learning, and Director of Student Services in communication with their direct reports, or facilitate translation services.

Maintain a professional learning network with other DLIE leaders.

Become certified with Addalingua or obtain a degree in Dual Language Immersion Education.
Communication
-
Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with students, educators, administrators.

Create and maintain a shared coaching calendar, making the calendar accessible to teachers and administrators.

Work closely with the Elementary Literacy Coach to provide continuity in coaching models.
Professional Conduct and Growth

Hold to professional standards of student confidentiality and respect when discussing student needs, plans, and progress.

Maintain teacher certification while attending professional development opportunities that may include travel.

Articulate and integrate Christian faith into coaching and relationship with others.

Advocate for students in their learning.

Engage in continuous growth and development in learning in the field of dual language instruction and coaching pedagogy and practice

Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, articles, and texts
Other Duties
-
Assist in the development and implementation of IDOE initiatives and updates.

Assist dual language teachers with universal screenings.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Learning.
Education Requirements

Degree in Education; Masters preferred
