Job Overview
Lansing Christian School is hiring a full-time Director of Food Service to lead and manage our school’s food program. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our lunch and snack services, supervising staff, managing food purchases, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
- Oversee planning menus, preparation and serving of daily lunches, snacks, and a la carte items
- Manage food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Supervise, schedule, and train food service staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen in compliance with all health codes
- Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate routine maintenance
- Collaborating with school leadership on budgeting and cost control
- Assist with food service for occasional school events
Professional Qualifications
- Relevant experience in food service or cafeteria management; associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and commercial kitchen operations
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and work on your feet in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with email, spreadsheets, and food service software
