This position ensures that the student body is empowered with the knowledge and skills to live Christ-like in all aspects of life as it relates to directing instruction, staff development, oversight and coordination.
Job Requirements
Directing Instruction:
- Curriculum Development: Leads and directs staff in the development of our school curriculum. Ensures that our courses and instruction promote our mission and strategic objectives - Bible-based, standards-focused, and results-oriented. Evaluates and directs all curriculum, ensuring the student learning goals are established and met.
- Curriculum Supervision: Supervises the WMC curriculum by regularly reviewing all courses of study, the addition of new programs, and the subtraction of others.
- Curriculum Alignment: Focuses on secondary curriculum with a keen knowledge of subjects. Represents WMC on the collaborative curriculum team and communicates with feeder schools to ensure smooth transitions and strong student achievement.
- Instructional Coaching: Develops and implements instructional coaching plan. Leads and directs instructional coaching team as they implement the coaching plan.
Staff Development:
- Professional Development: Helps to develop and promote a culture of continual learning and improvement. Ensures WMC staff have the tools needed to meet and exceed professional standards. Works with the principal to train and assign instructional staff. Assists the Principal in supervising and maintaining professional development policy.
- Instructional coaching: Works with the Principal to develop professional development goals for the year. Conducts observations and provides coaching and individual professional development for all staff members.
- Teaching for Transformation: Leader of the Teaching for Transformation Team. Develops yearly goals, provides professional development to meet the goals, provides TfT coaching to individual teachers, attends TfT professional development provided by CACE as needed.
Oversight
- Staff Handbook: Confirms that adopted policies and procedures promote the WMC mission and vision
- Consulting with individual students/parents to discuss academic gaps and research potential supports or interventions.
Testing Coordinator
- NWEA MAP testing
- PSAT/PSAT NMSQT/SAT testing
- AP testing
- Responsible for organizing test dates
- Responsible for rostering, training testing staff, and administering tests
- Responsible for historical data from all tests
