Job Description
The Development Coordinator will support Legacy Christian School’s fundraising and community engagement efforts, advancing the school’s mission of Preparing Christ Followers and Kingdom Builders. This role is instrumental in managing donor records, coordinating fundraising events, supporting donor and family communications, and helping cultivate a strong donor community.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to our school’s success. This is a part-time, year-round position based at our West Campus office (approximately 10 hours/week, with additional hours during event weeks).
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relationships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and new donors.
- Meet with donors to discuss giving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate donor records in the school’s CRM system (Bloomerang).
Fundraising Campaign Support
- Lead the planning and execution of the Annual Auction and Golf Outing.
- Assist in the planning and execution of capital campaigns, year-end giving, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate mailings and email campaigns, including design and production.
- Track campaign progress and donor engagement.
Event Coordination
- Manage logistics, timelines, sponsorship tracking, vendor communications, and volunteer coordination for Annual Auction, Golf Outing, and other events as planned.
- Lead on-site event setup and support.
Communications & Stewardship
- Help create and send thank-you letters, donor communications, and impact reports.
- Support donor recognition efforts and maintain updated donor lists for publications.
- Assist in developing content for newsletters and social media.
- Establish a program to communicate with donors about charitable gifts and estate planning.
Administrative & Team Support
- Attend monthly Development meetings as scheduled by the School Board
- Provide monthly reports to the School Board
- Work collaboratively with school staff, faculty, and parent groups to support development goals.
Education Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, education, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in fundraising, school advancement, or nonprofit administration preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database systems (experience with school CRMs a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a nonprofit or educational setting.
- Familiarity with donor relations and stewardship best practices.
- Event planning or volunteer management experience.
- Comfort working with parents, board members, and community members.
