Job Description

DeMotte Christian Grade School is looking for a full-time front office secretary to join our team. The secretary faithfully and confidentially manages the office at the lower campus, including but not limited to, providing word processing for the Principal and the Board as needed, receiving and responding to inquiries from constituents, and receiving incoming phone calls and messages. Other job responsibilities include:

  • Warmly greeting and assisting students, staff and visitors
  • Signing in and directing guests
  • Working with teachers to maintain daily attendance of students
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Managing of student records and releasing of transcripts
  • Maintaining the sick room and medical supplies and storing and distributing prescription and over-the-counter medications to students
  • Maintaining a neat, organized, and efficient office
  • Taking inventory of office supplies, textbooks, and supply needs of teachers, staff and students
  • Updating the student information system (FACTS)
  • Performing other duties as assigned by administration

Position is for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week during school days. Summer hours will range between 1-2 days per week.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Is a Christian who:

  1. Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  2. Is able to articulate a Christian statement of faith and purpose for Christian education.
  3. Subscribes to the purpose and principles listed in Section 2.01 of Article II and the education philosophy contained in Section 3.01 of Article III of the Bylaws. (found on application)
  • Is an active communicant member in good standing of a Protestant church
  • Possesses a strong love for children
  • Agrees to educate his/her current and prospective children in a CSI Christian day school grade K-12. This requirement may be waived if the child(ren) has special education needs that cannot be provided by a local CSI Christian day school.
  • Is able to interact with children, parents, grandparents and guests in a cheerful, sensitive, caring and tactful manner
  • Preference will be given to someone that possesses strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Possesses strong organizational skills
  • Recognize the need and is able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Is a strong team player able to work well with co-workers
  • Agrees to adhere to the Marriage and Sexuality Position Statement
