Job Description
King’s Christian Collegiate is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic candidate for a full-time role that provides positive, competent leadership and strong responsibility for championing our school brand and purpose. This person will create and coordinate communications related to:
- Telling the stories of learning and school life through digital communication
- Relating to staff and students with care, genuine curiosity, and skillful intentionality to gain insights and authentically reflect their experiences
- Collaborating with school leaders for important communication needs
- Discerning the content and tone of all communication, reflecting a distinctly Christ-centred high school
- Using school platforms and tools to convey information clearly and effectively
- Applying creativity and vibrancy to promotions, special projects, and products
- Aligning communication and public relations priorities with the school mission, vision, and values
Specific Responsibilities:
- Commitment to give time and effort to deeply understanding the mission, vision, and values
- of King’s Christian Collegiate
- Communicate the stories of King’s using a variety of media, paying close attention to instruction and learning, school culture, well-being, growth, and leadership through a distinctly Christian lens
- Uphold and promote the King’s brand, including reviewing branded designs
- Oversight of social media accounts
- Post effective communication updates in Edsby and Outlook
- Capture the life of King’s (especially through photography and video)
- Collaborate as a team member for the execution of weekly chapels and to help ensure excellent, purposeful signature school events, from a communications lens
- Create branded designs and promotion for large-scale, recurring events
- Manage the King’s website and update content as necessary
- Manage and maintain the Communications budget and equipment
- Work with the Principal and Administration team to support clear and consistent communication on all platforms
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional degree in a relevant course of study or commensurate experience
- Strong understanding of the Christian faith and keen personal commitment to following the ways of Jesus
- Sensitivity and discretion related to focusing on school values and priorities, featuring young people, prioritizing cultural responsiveness, and ensuring deep respect for all
- Demonstrated expertise in digital media technology and applications
- Excellent attention to details, narrative voice, visual composition, grammatical correctness, professionalism, and timelines
- Clever, joyful creativity for reaching a high school audience while also engaging those who support and love our students
The Communications Coordinator will report to the Principal and work in collaboration with the VP of School Life to reveal the story of King’s with the highest standard of care, accuracy and intentionality.
