Our Location:

Ebenezer Christian School is a Pre-K through Grade 8 Christian-based school located in Ellsworth MI. The Village of Ellsworth is called the “Heart of the Great Outdoors” and is located on Ellsworth Lake; a part of the Chain of Lakes that runs from Six Mile Lake to Elk Lake.  It is a small and proud community with activities within and around the area.  In less than one hour you can be in Traverse City, Petoskey or Gaylord.

Open position-Middle School Teacher

Ebenezer Christian School is seeking a Middle School Teacher to teach in a blended setting for 6, 7, and 8 grade students.  Approximately 6-10 students total in this middle school class. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching and committed to providing their students with a rigorous and nurturing educational experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching all subject areas in the middle school, including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Religious Studies.

Responsibilities:

• • Create engaging and effective lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and standards 
  • Deliver instruction in a clear and concise manner that promotes student understanding 
  • Assess and grade student learning, including the development and administration of tests and quizzes 
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress and help them develop strategies for improvement

• Converse with parents on student progress, through parent-teacher conferences and individually as needed

• • Maintain effective classroom management and create a positive learning environment 

• Understand, promote and be a part of a loving Christian environment within the community of the school including students, coworkers, staff members, parents, Board members, and others.

• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field 
• Valid MI license to teach or commensurate experience in education and ability and desire to obtain a valid MI teacher’s license
• Excellent communication and people skills 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
