Job Description

Grand Haven Christian (GHC) is seeking a full-time 4th grade teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. GHC is a PK-8th grade school with a staff of nearly 60 individuals operating together as a team to serve 465 students and their families. We offer programming in both traditional English instruction and Spanish immersion and are currently in the midst of a building addition that will provide additional classrooms, a fine arts space, and a gymnasium that will double as an auditorium to meet our growing student population.

Located along the shores of Lake Michigan, Grand Haven is in a beauiful part of God’s creation with many outdoor activites only minutes away. GHC is in the midst of its 146th year of partnering with families to provide a Christ-centered education. Our school’s mission is educating minds and shaping hearts for service to God in His world. Job Requirements

  • Possess a strong Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible, a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a demonstrated character of integrity.
  • Possess a passion for Christian education and student discipleship.
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans that engage and challenge all students.
  • Strive to develop a classroom community. This is a classroom that shows love and concern for each member and that works together to perform the tasks that are before them.
  • Use a variety of methods to evaluate student progress, leading to changes in instruction to meet the needs of the students.
  • Maintain communication with parents. Teachers must consider parents to be partners in the task of education.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with other teachers, support staff, administration, and the Board.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Perform duties and serve on committees that may be assigned by the principal and/or School Board.

Education Requirements

  • Bechlor of Arts in Elementary Edcuation
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a Michigan teaching license
  • Agree to the Grand Haven Christian Mission & Belief Statements
