Job Description
The vibrant team at St. Paul Lutheran School in Catonsville, Maryland, is excited to see what God has in store for us! We have one opening for a full-time fourth-grade teacher in a self-contained classroom of 12-14 students at St. Paul Lutheran School, Catonsville, MD, our nationally accredited school. This is a 10-month salaried, onsite position; our summers are ours to enjoy.
Our school is the congregation’s primary mission. We happily reach out to the unchurched and churched alike to tell about our Savior and raise up kind children who “Love to Learn and Learn to Love” on our campus.
Our supportive elementary team of educators works together, encouraging each other while giving our students the best education possible. We begin working with babies 6 weeks old in our Early Childhood Center and continue teaching through 5th grade. In the end, we simply enjoy our time together serving Christ in our school.
Job Requirements
The office of a Christian teacher is one of ministry. As a minister of the gospel, the teacher is concerned with more than the cognitive growth of students. A teacher’s role as an instructor requires hard work and dedication. Teachers at St. Paul and enthusiastic about their ministry and set a Christian example in their life while helping the students grow academically to their greatest potential.
*St. Paul teachers will arrive by 7:40 and remain on campus until 3:40
*St. Paul teachers will communicate effectively with students and parents alike, commending and reinforcing good conduct and achievement for all students with the administration's support.
*St. Paul teachers vary their teaching procedures, try new techniques and continually develop their craft. They are encouraged to attend Tech21 classes and take what they have learned back into the classroom, helping the students to use their Chromebooks to the highest potential.
*St. Paul teachers use MAPS testing to push the education along and connect with our remedial teacher when necessary to encourage students and develop plans for their learning.
*St. Paul teachers keep the classroom appearance interesting.
*St. Paul teachers follow proper procedures when recording information.
