Job Description
This person would be a vital member of our K- 8 Educational Support Services team with focused efforts in our 6th-8th learning community as our Tier II Interventionist.
Responsibilities:
- plan for, teach and assess students in literacy and math intervention groups
- organize and plan for paraeducators to carry out literacy and math intervention groups; be cognizant of student progress in these groups
- regularly document student progress in own intervention groups and read documentation of students in paraeducator-led groups
- meet every other week with teacher teams to discuss students, create groups and devise strategies to address student academic deficiencies
- Direct supervision of standardized assessment process, three times per year, using NWEA Maps
- conduct data dives with individual or small groups of teachers following each NWEA assessment
- prepare reports as necessary for administration and Education committee
- attend Child Study Team meetings of students on caseload
- communicate with parents as needed, typically by sending home notes at beginning of new intervention sessions and meeting with parents if they have questions or concerns
- work closely with the Director of Teaching & Learning with regard to funding and ordering of learning resources and maintain inventory of resources
- assess prospective students and report scores and anecdotal notes to administration

Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Current teacher certification is highly preferred or, at minimum, the ability to secure Michigan certification within one year from the start of employment
