Curriculum and Instruction Manager

The Curriculum and Instruction Manager will assist the Director in the planning & implementation of the school’s curriculum and instructional services

Job Summary:


The Curriculum and Instruction Manager will assist the Director in the planning and implementation of the school’s curriculum and instructional services. The Manager will monitor educational objectives within ATLAS to promote alignment to standards and instructional best practices. He/She will serve as an instructional coach to assist teachers in implementing effective pedagogy and assessments. The manager will assist the director with MAP assessments, including rostering all students, analyzing student data, and coaching teachers in data-driven instruction.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Assists the Director in supervising and training teachers in the implementation of ATLAS (Curriculum Mapping System)
  • Assists Principals and Vice-Principals in monitoring lesson plans within RenWeb, ATLAS, and/or Canvas
  • Assists the Director in tracking, ordering, and distributing resources
  • Assists in curriculum alignment K-12
  • Serves as an instructional coach for teachers K-12
  • Assists in mentoring new teachers
  • Assists Director in monitoring student achievement for placement in academic core subject
  • Assists Director with MAP assessments, including entering student data, scheduling and proctoring assessments, and analyzing student data
  • Serves as coach to assist teachers in analyzing data and making student academic progress plan
  • Assists director in planning and providing professional development
  • Tracks/records professional development hours and reports to ACSI for licensure
  • Assists in monitoring teacher licensure through ACSI and/or state
  • Adheres to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes, and codes
  • Performs other related assigned duties

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony among others
  • Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with our school
  • Agree to uphold Valley Christian’s Statement of Faith
  • Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license
  • Ability to navigate digital mapping system (ATLAS) and work with teaching standards
  • Ability to navigate MAP assessments, including rostering and data analysis
  • Ability to meet deadlines, complete work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity and establish/maintain academic systems
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task with organization without direct supervision
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with outside vendors and businesses


Physical Requirements:


  • Use a computer (visual and keyboarding) for long periods of time
  • Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 50% of the time
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story)
  • Use of hands, fingers, arms to reach, grip and maneuver objects
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)
  • Work in noisy and crowded school environment
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings when needed
  • Frequent walking throughout the campus
  • Must be able to travel in state between campuses, to vendors, and to related events

Education Requirements

Education and Experience:


  • BA/BS in Educational Studies, Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, or similar
  • 5+ years of classroom teaching experience
  • Wide variety of teaching level experiences (K-4, 5-8, and 9-12)
  • Previous educational leadership experience (team lead, department chair, etc.)


Preferred Skills and Knowledge:


  • Master of Education degree or currently enrolled in Master of Education degree program
